The collection is mostly regional and representative of the mixed-grass prairies of the Central Great Plains. The organization of NEBK can largely be attributed to the late Ole A. Kolstad who was curator from 1965-1992. Some significant collections are those by H.A. Hapeman (late 1800’s-early 1900’s), W.E. Bruner (1930’s), O.A. Kolstad (1960’s-1970’s), and G.E. Larson (1970’s to date). Grasses (Poaceae), sedges (Cyperaceae), and rushes (Juncaceae) are well represented.University of Nebraska at Kearney Herbarium[1] 308-865-8883rothenberges@unk.eduUniversity of Nebraska at Kearney, Bruner Hall of ScienceKearneyNebraska68849-1140USASteve Rothenberger, Curatorrothenberges@unk.educontentProviderTo the extent possible under law, the publisher has waived all rights to these data and has dedicated them to the 2024-03-28T08:47:57-07:00Red de Herbarios Mexicanos - 19602d7d-da65-4c74-bbe9-89ef6fa5f9daUTF-8Darwin Core Archivehttps://herbanwmex.net/portal/collections/misc/collprofiles.php?collid=137NEBKUniversity of Nebraska at Kearney Herbariumhttps://swbiodiversity.org/seinet/content/collicon/nebk.jpghttp://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/Steve Rothenberger, Curatorrothenberges@unk.eduThe University of Nebraska at Kearney Herbarium (NEBK) contains ca. 35,000 specimens of vascular plants and approximately 4000 bryophytes and lichens.
